Our relationships are long ones.
Because the nature of our work is constantly evolving, we need people who thrive on change. People who are mentally agile. People who are relentless and resilient. People who never stop thinking. It’s a tall order, we know. This degree of talent is hard to find. Needless to say when we do find great people, we make sure we hold on to them.
makes anything possible.
We apply a combination of lateral, strategic and critical thinking to every project we undertake. We call it Applied Thinking.© It’s at the core of our business and it’s what enables us to offer insightful and effective advice, solve more complex problems and expertly deliver a diversified range of projects from inception to completion.
The project management myth.
It is often considered that project management relies primarily on technical expertise. But at Root Partnerships that’s only half the story. A sound technical knowledge is imperative, but so too are strong advocacy skills, the capacity and enthusiasm for leadership to mobilise entire project teams, and the ability to think on one’s feet. We see project management as requiring a challenging blend of left and right brain capabilities. Extraordinary results are delivered by extraordinary people.
Every step of the way.
Every project is unique. That’s why we offer a range of services broad enough to partner with clients in any category, from a project’s initiation to completion.

the built environment, together
The power to connect.
When we’re assembling a project team, we make sure it contains the very best people for the job. Sometimes those people work entirely for us. Other times they are people who are part of our broader network of experts such as place makers, curators, historians, graphic designers, specialist writers, market researchers, and financial, legal and economic experts.
Contributing to our communities.
The Shepherd Centre
Our professional relationships have given us the unique opportunity to contribute to our communities. We are currently working with The Shepherd Centre providing development advisory and project management services on a pro-bono basis to plan, design and deliver a proposed new purpose-built facility in Campbelltown, NSW.
Founded by the late Dr Bruce Shepherd AM, The Shepherd Centre is a not-for-profit organisation who for over 40 years have provided children born deaf or hearing-impaired access to early intervention programs, teaching deaf children to speak and enabling them to attend mainstream schools with full integration.
South Pole Group
For the past nine years we have committed to offset the carbon emissions that are attributed to our business operations. We look at a range of our activities and calculate the greenhouse gases emitted each year, then compensate for those emissions by investing in a number of climate protection projects through South Pole Group. We are currently investing in:
- Quilpeta Forest Regeneration, Australia
- Za Hung Hydro, Vietnam
